Major Areas of Intervention

COMMUNITY BASED MOBILIZATION FOR DEVELOPMENT believe in community based and right based interventions by promoting local, national and international partnerships. Our activities aim at achieving our organisational goals and are beginning of large scale interventions we are planning to take up in future.

Research & Development Activities

Techno Social Research is important activity in CBMD Agenda and our team members have ample experience in this line and have developed association and networking with like-minded organisations. CBMD Members have conducted a number of research studies – Cluster Studies, Impact Assessment, End Impact Evaluations & PCR Preparations, Baseline and Feasibility Studies.

Exhibitions, Craft Bazars and Fashion Shows

Marketing is a crucial issue in front of all livelihood development programs – SHGs & Micro-enterprise development, altogether Entrepreneurship Development. To overcome this we organise exhibitions, Fashion shows, trade fares, craft bazaars, buyer-seller meets, SSI Summits, Network development, Linkage Development, Branding and Promotion activities across the country.

Women Empowerment, Skill Training, Livelihood Development, Micro Enterprise Development and Poverty Alleviation

We believe in fighting Poverty through a series of activities starts from Women Empowerment to give the end result of sustainable development. Here we adopt both Individual and Group development approach depending on the locally available resources – Man and Material. Conducted EAPs, EDPs, Skill Development Training, Micro-Enterprise Development, Linkages Development etc.

Workshops and Training Programs

Dissemination of Technology, Skill and Information is another important issue in front of Development Profession. Making poor to accept new changes through various dissemination programs like workshops, Training programs and conferences is an important agenda of CBMD and have been carrying out successfully across the country making it a successful tool of development penetration among poor and most vulnerable section of the society.

Policy Advocacy

Lobbying and Policy Advocacy is an important responsibility of Social Workers and Development Professionals in Democracy. In a society where mighty is powerful it is not easy to bring changes to uplift the poor and vulnerable fighting the existing system and dynamics. Here fighting for the under-served through lobbying and policy advocacy is an important activity in CBMD Agenda and all its members are striving  for it across the Nation rejecting the threats of established local norms and tough terrain geographies.

Tribal Development

Tribal are one of the most vulnerable social group in India. Every development affect forest and Tribal are displaced and exploited right and left and in a cross road of dilemma. One side their culture and traditions, on the other side development and civilization; on one side politics and extremism and in the other side government and welfare. Still they are nowhere to access basic needs – Livelihood, Education and Health. Realizing these dynamics CBMD has in its agenda strategies for Tribal welfare accepting “Tribe as they are and where they are” without disturbing the Nature and their nature.

Protection of Natural Habitats, environment and its flora and fauna are important aspects CBMD has taken up along with Tribal protection and development and so we have been promoting bee keeping and organic farming practices among tribals in our respective project areas in Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand.

Non formal Education – Girl Child Education

Education is another crucial thematic area of intervention as far as CBMD is concerned. When we involved in education, it is not only about formal education instead we are concerned about alternate education, elementary education, adult education and continuous education. We run Non-formal and remedial education centers at Narayanpur Chhattisgarh and Shalimar Garden, Ghaziabad, NCR, U.P with a primary objective to mainstream the street and out of school children to the mainstream education.

Also we started sponsoring children from poor families who are not in a position to bear the cost of education and related expenditure. Resource crunch is a main issue in front of the organisation but we are sure that we will be able to mobilize more resources from partner organisations and other sources to promote this activity and to sponsor more children.

Our strategy – Educational Guidance: Our strategy is to prevent drop outs and try to influence the existing educational policies in favour of the poor and marginalized. The quality of education is another concern and CBMD is helping the children and youngsters from economically and socially backward sections of the society to choose suitable courses and careers.

Future Plans

Looking in to the various social and development needs of our country we at CBMD planned to do the following in the years ahead.

Karunya Project is a milestone initiative CBMD is planning to start by 2023 envisaging Long Term Geriatric Care Homes and short term care centers for Senior Citizens in Uttarpradesh and Rajasthan and in both the states location and land are already identified and started resource mobilization. We are trying to start the centers latest by March 2023 and for this purpose CBMD is seeking financial assistance from kind hearted individuals and organisations in terms of cash or kind in order to meet the requirements such as construction of building, furniture and equipments, recreation facilities, health services, operation cost, transport etc. Your valuable support and donations will strengthen our hands to meet the needs and to serve the real needy senior citizens by providing a healthy, peaceful and cheerful environment where they can spend their time with all emotional and spiritual support and will help them to happily complete their life.  Towards this noble cause we are also starting recreation homes for senior citizens in urban set up of Delhi and NCR in near future and the same will be expanded to more cities and towns with a need based approach. Kind hearted individuals and organisations can support us by donating a tiny share of your resources available with you in terms of cash or kind….

Take up SFURTI Cluster Development Program of MSME Ministry, GoI in Chhattisgarh to develop the Bamboo Tribal Craft Cluster in Narayanpur where CBMD is working for a long time among Tribals and to develop a CFC in Devgaon on the Kondagaon-Narayanpur Road so that it can serve maximum number of artisans to take benefit of the SFURTI Program.

Also to support SFURTI Clusters in Jaipur and Udaipur in Rajasthan and Mandi in Himachal Pradesh to develop Gota-Pati Hand Embroidery work, Herbal Products and Kullu Shawls respectively.

Enter into Formal Education Sector along with the non-formal education activities and to start Higher Secondary Schools in those states where quality English medium education is inaccessible to poor and vulnerable sections and so CBMD decided to start Sariska Public School (SPS) under CBSE Board from Alwar, Rajasthan with a special focus on girl child education.
